With the existing ground floor structure, the corner plot was required to extend the structure to fulfill the requirements of a family with three generations living together. With partial demolition, the new layout was introduced such a way that residence can get benefits of an existing structure. Extended south side of the residence has been provided with all the services, which in turn acts as a buffer zone and controls temperature and noise level in the living spaces by avoiding direct harsh sunlight. Dramatic play of the materials such as exposed brick, aluminium louver sections, grass railing does not make it look like a separate structure from the existing structure. Well lit, double height central dining area connects the two floors in a vertical manner. Properly ventilated spaces are achieved with proper location and size of the openings. The height of south west corner boundary wall has been reduced to the level where people can sit and gather on a cluster level.
