Floreon Ltd is a pioneering company that embarked on a journey in 2011 to create a sustainable alternative to oil-based plastics. Shaun Chatterton founded the company to address the environmental issues associated with traditional plastics through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership with the University of Sheffield. This collaboration led to the development of Floreon's patented material, a bioplastic derived from renewable resources like sugar cane and corn.
Floreon's innovative compound, based on polylactic acid (PLA), offers the same performance as conventional plastics but with sustainable end-of-life options, including industrial composting and recycling.
