Based in Plano, Texas, since 1995, Dr. Courtney has more than 20 years of experience as a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Courtney earned his Bachelor of Science at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana, before attending Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, Louisiana. He then completed his orthopedic residency at Texas A&M University Medical Center in Temple, Texas, and his spine fellowship at Florida Neck & Back Institute, PA, in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Courtney is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, the Collin/Fannin County Medical Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, and the American College of Spine Surgery. He attends several annual conferences and meetings to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in orthopedic surgery in order to better serve his patients. Dr. Courtney is the owner of Eminent Medical Center in Richardson, Texas, where he performs both in- and outpatient procedures.
