TRIP OVERVIEW
Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamnotri is called Chardham, all four destination situated in foothills of Himalaya in Uttarakhand. Chardham is Holy places for Hindu Devotees, every year thousands of people visit these shrine, Chardham Yatra passes through many beautiful villages which are full of culture & many beauriful valleys consisting green forest, waterfalls, rivers, flora & fauna. Badrinath temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated in bank of Alaknanda river in Chamoli
District of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3133 m above sea level. There is two hot water kunds(pond) Narad Kund & Surya Kund where devotees takes bath before visiting Temple. In
many ancient books like Vedas, Puranas written about about Badrinath Dham. Kedarnath temple is dedicated to Lord shiva in bank of Mandakini river in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3583 m attracts devotees & trekkers because of its beautiful surroundings & Himalayan snow capped peaks. Yamnotri temple is situated in the bank of Yamuna river situated in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3293 m, there is hot thermal water spring in Janki Chatti. Gangotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Ganga situated in bank of Bhagirathi river in Uttarakashi district of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 3100 m. Gamukh (source of th ganga) is situated 19 km away from Gangotri in Gangotri glacier.
ITINERARY DETAILS
Day 1 Haridwar/ Rishikesh to Barkot (1828 m) – 172 km – 6 hours.
Arrive Rishikesh or Haridwar day before departure or reach early morning by train or any other medium of transport. Our vehicle will be ready get in to Vehicle with your bag or other things, check your belonging things properly & Depart to Barkot, During today journey you will pass some well known towns of Uttarakhand like Rishikesh, Narendra Nagar, Chamba, Tehri, Dharasu & Barkot. Lunch will be on the way. Overnight stay in Hotel or Guest house in Barkot.
Day 2 Barkot to Yamnotri -Barkot (3323 m)–– 6 km trek - 100km Drive
Jai Ma Yamuna
Early morning wake up & depart to Jankichatti via Syanchatti, 41 km motarable up to Jankichatti & 6 km trek to Yamnotri . After arriving Yamnotri visit Holy temple of Yamuna Mata situated on the bank of Yamuna river, do Pooja & blessing of Pujari. Visit nearby places of Yamnotri like Surya kund, Divya shilla & Jamuna bai kund. After Lunch return back to Barkot, 6 km trek to Jankichatti & 41 km drive to Barkot. Night stay in barkot.
Day 3 Barkot to Uttarakashi - 100 km : 3 Hours
Jai Kashi Vishwanath
Today is relaxation day, after breakfast proceed to Uttarakashi, Check in Hotels. Later after breakfast visit Kashi Viswanath Temple. Lord Shiva is manifest here immersed in deep meditation, showering his blessing upon all humanity. The Shivlingam here is 56 cm in height and has a tilt to the south.
In the sanctum sanctum, there are also Goddess. Parvati and Lord Ganesha. Nandi is in outer chamber of the temple. The present temple was built over the pre-existing ancient altar, in the year 1857 A.D. by the queen of Tehri Smt. Khaneti Devi, w/o king Shri Sudershan Shah, the traditional Himalayan temple architecture is employed here. The image of sakshi gopal and the sage Markandeya are seen represented here as in meditation. The tradition has it that this sage;Rishi
Markandeya had so much love and devotion to lord Shiva that the lord himself protected the sage the Yama , the God of death , who came to take the sage’s life at this very place
where the temple is situated.
Day 4 Uttarakashi to Gangotri (3140m)– Uttarakashi (1158 m)– 200 km – 8 hours
Jai ma Ganga
Gangotri, Temple of maa Ganga, in the bank of Ganga river & Gomukh Source of the Ganga river. Morning after breakfast drive to Gangotri Temple via Harsil, Bhaironghati. Mostly prefer to dip in Bhagirathi river and after that worship in Gangoti Temple, Explore Himlayan view & after lunch return back to
Uttarakashi for night halt. It will take around 6-8 hours to cover, full journey is moterable.
Day 5 Uttarakashi to Rudraprayag/Sonprayag (1479m) – 220 km – 7 hours
Morning tea & breakfast in Uttarakshi & drive to Guptakshi,its long drive today via Ghansali, Agastmuni & many small & big village of three Districts Uttarakshi, Tihari & Rudraprayag. Guptakashi is situated in Rudraprayag disitrict, there is ancient temple didicated to Lord Shiva (Vishwanath), visit temple & surroundings of Guptkashi. Ukhimath can be seen from there which is on way to highest temple of Lord shiva “Tunganth. From Guptkshi another route to kalimath & Madmaheswer. Check in hotel & visit Confluence of Alaknanda & Mandakini river in Rudraprayag. Night stay in Rudraprayag/Sonprayag.
Day 6 Rudraprayag/Sonprayag to Kedarnath (3583 m) – 30 km moterable – 14 km trek
Today we have to start early morning because of ascend trek 14 km, first 30 km motarable up to Gaurikund, Beakfast in Gaurikund. There is two water source is there in Gaurikund Hot & Cold and a Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva & Gauri (Goddess Parvati), according to myth Gauri mediated here for a long time & later got married to Lord Shiva in Trijuginarayan . This trek route passes through thick forest, water streams &
magnificent view of Mountains. After crossing Rambara & Garurchatti we will reach Kedarnath shrine. Night halt in foot hills of the Himalaya today.
Day 7 Kedarnath to Rudraprayag (610 m) – 73 km moterable – 14 km trek
Kedarnath located in foothills of himalayas in Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand on the bank of Mandakini river which sources from Chorbaria Glacier. Kedarkhand valley effected by flood in 16 may 2013 but the main Temple is safe now Uttarakhand Government restored everything properly.
Early Morning wake up & visit Kedarnath temple ,there is statue of Pandava’s & Dropadi, Nandi & Veerbhadra, take blessing of Pujari & receive Prasad of temple, visit surroundings of Kedarnath, explore view of kedarnath peaks & aftere breakfast trek down to Gaurikund. From Gaurikund transport is available & depart to Rudraprayag. From kund there is another route for Badrinath via Ukhimath, Chopta, Gopeswer but this route only famous routnfor Chardham yatra. Check in in Hotel & night stay in Rudraprayag today .
Day 8 Rudraprayag to Badrinath (1890m) – 157 km – 5 hours

Badrinath is the last Dham of Chardham yatra, Morning After breakfast we will start drive to Badrinath pass through many well know places Gaucher, Nandprayag, Chamoli, Garurganga, Joshimath, Vishnuprayag, Govindghat, Pandukesher, many beautiful villages, waterfalls, water Streams, many river confluences and Green forest which will encourage you to journey again & again in Himalaya region Check in hotel or Guest house after that take dip in hot water kund before visiting temple, visit temple & its campus many idols is there of gods. Check in your hotel, Night stay in Badrinath.
Day 9 Badrinath Darshan & Joshimath (1890 m) - 45 km Joshimath/Auli - 5 to 6 hours
Walk up early in the morning & depart to Mana Village, Explore Mana Village & near byplaces like Bheem Pul, Vasudhara Falls, Sarswati river & Neelkanth peak etc. Mana is the last village near China & Tibbet border. Explore Mana & Drive back to Joshimath, visit Yogdhyan Badri ancient temple in Pandukesher(1829 m) 24 km from Joshimath. After crossing some km distance we can see Confluence of Alaknanda & Dhauliganga river in Vishnuprayag, evening check in hotels in Joshimath & visit Narsingh devata Temple. Night stay in Joshimath.
Day 10 Joshimath to Rishikesh/Haridwar (340m) – 254 km – 6 to 7 hours
Today is the last day of journey, after breakfast depart to Rishikesh, on the way visit Karnaprayag for Cconfluence of Alaknanda & Pinder river and Lord Karna Temple & also
visit Deoprayag for Alaknanda & Bhigirathi river which formed Ganga here. We will drop you in Rishikesh/Haridwar. Say Good bye to Uttarakhand, Your Chardham Journey of Uttarakhand ends here.
