Low Testosterone, or the lack of, is also known as Andropause. Testosterone is the most important sex hormone in the male body, and is responsible for facial hair, muscle growth and strength, deep voice and other typical male characteristics. Normal levels of testosterone also influence the production of sperm, promote sexual function and sex drive.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration estimates that 4 to 5 million American men may suffer from low testosterone, and only 5% are treated.
If you experience symptoms associated with low testosterone, you may want to get your testosterone levels checked with a simple blood test.
